Amaretto, Apple Cake and Artichokes - The Best of Anna Del Conte
July's cookbook club pick - reading notes & event
Nobody does it better than Anna Del Conte. ‘It’ being the particular glorious mix of Italian food culture, regionality and history that results in recipes that manage to still be incredibly modern. There are simple dishes for everyday eating; a joy of embracing seasonality; and then deep dives into specific aspects of the food culture.
Anna Del Conte is readable, cookable, and oh-so eatable. I adore her food and her writing - this book’s subtitle of being ‘The Best of Anna Del Conte’ is bang on the money. The best of the best. If you are new to ADC: this is the book to discover her through. And if you are familiar with ADC: this is the book to celebrate her with.
Read on for more thoughts from me on the book and the author, links to a few recipes to get things started if you don’t already have the book - and details on our digital meet-up to share thoughts and food from July’s cookbook club pick.
