Cookbook Club virtual meet-up: Monday 12th August, 6 - 7pm
Holiday reading for cookbook lovers
A virtual meet-up for us all to share thoughts and book recommendations on this month’s cookbook club theme: holiday reading for cookbook lovers.
So this is going to be about food books / food memoirs (with or without recipes) that suit lazy sunshine-fuelled days. The kind of thing you can pick up after a long lunch to while away the hours until dinner, but not so taxing that if you have a little snooze you’ll have to go back.
Come along to spread the word of ones you’ve loved and feel sure other cookbook kindred spirits might too; and / or find ideas to add to your own lounger lit lists.
The format is basically like any other book club gathering where the members share thoughts, ideas and opinions - just with food and cookbooks at its heart (and therefore even better). We want this to be an hour of lovely, relaxed, insightful conversation.
When and where
On: Monday 12th August, 6pm - 7pm BST
We are meeting online via Zoom. The session will be recorded and (probably) made available for the wider The Kitchen Bookshelf community to watch back. If you would rather it wasn't, then please do let me know.

What are we talking about?
The meet-up is focussed on this month’s cookbook club theme: food books / food memoirs (with or without recipes) that make perfect holiday reading for cookbook lovers. Here are my recommendations to get things started.
Note that this discussion is going to be about the genre, rather than a particular book.
What do I need to do to prepare?
It is not essential to have cooked something to talk about. This meet-up is for sharing thoughts about books more broadly rather than a particular book or set of dishes.
What will the format be?
I will do general hello’s and talk a little about the theme. Then it is over to you. I will be encouraging lots of open conversation so please do come with ideas of books you love and why. If there’s a book or author you really want to make sure you get the chance to talk about then you can let me know that ahead of time.
Who is coming?
This meet-up is only for paid subscribers to The Kitchen Bookshelf. Places are limited to ensure we are not too large a group for comfortable conversation.
Send me a message if you would like to register for a place:
I’m really looking forward to seeing you there.
