Sharing the food books / food memoirs that suit lazy sunshine-fuelled days
UPDATED: Here is the recording of the virtual meet-up to share thoughts and recommendations on this month’s cookbook theme: holiday reading for cookbook lovers. You’ll find discussion on many of the books on my list below plus more, such as Amanda Hesser’s Cooking For Mr Latte and Patience Gray’s Honey From A Weed. There’s conversation about the impact that the choice of reader has on enjoying an audio book, whether Nigella Lawson talks slower now than she used to, and would we like to meet Elizabeth David…. So there’a lot here - I hope you enjoy the watch-back. (With apologies for its slightly fuzzy quality - I blame the heat on the day we were doing this!)
As the world and his granny heads of on hols - and / or the heat makes much actual cooking seem more of a faff then usual - I find my attention turning from cookbooks that send me rushing to the stove, to ones more suited to lolling with on a sun lounger.
