Long bean time is coming. And often when new seasonal produce beckons I get all excited and point to pages in Seasoning to look at for ways to use / flavour partners / preserving. Not so with the long beans: Runner, climbing French, snap – none of them made the cut for Seasoning. Our summer chapter was already overfull with produce. I was sad at the time not to fit them in; sadder still now that it’s their season.
