I reckon there are 10 key stages in writing a cookbook:
OMG, I’ve got a great idea
Maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all

I’ve got a book deal! Dear god, now I have to write it

(I am currently at stage #10 of my third cookbook)
I’ll be expanding on each of the stages in future posts in the hope they will resonate with established writers, and offer some kind of guidance / solace to aspirational cookbook writers.
Having navigated these cookbook stages three times now , I am offering myself out as a gun for hire mentor to help writers navigate their way through any part of these or maybe perhaps them all.
